Ratings, reviews, repeat-rate, and proof of finished work are all visible to everyone. A strong record means something because it's earned through delivered work and hard to fake.
The platform shouldn't be the biggest line item. A flat 10% at delivery — roughly half the going rate — keeps more of every project with the people who did the work.
